Okay, here’s my Sunday pic:

And I would defy ANY man to wear this pink top. Seriously!
This is me all ready for work. You can’t see it too well in this photo, but my scrubs are Dickies and the top is somewhat tailored. Trust me, no male nurse would wear my scrubs. And no one would mistake me with my long hair and makeup for a male nurse.

Wow! You look so, so, amazingly like a woman! Even without a dress!!!!!
Yeah, I think MOST people can tell if someone is a man or a woman, and dressing so as to make it patently obvious to the few who apparently cannot, isn’t a good enough reason, IMO, for women and men to dress in the patri-approved fashion.
The thing is, ever notice how NORMAL most of the patri men dress (as in, you can’t tell them apart at first glance from non-Christian men), yet in some circles their women call much attention to themselves by their oversized, sack-like garments? Maybe it’s time for the guys to start looking different from the world, too.
I can’t tell what’s more important to that crowd, frankly; I get different impressions depending on the day of the week: Women dressing differently from men, or women dressing differently from the world. And oddly, Scripture simply tells us not to wear that “which pertaineth” to the opposite sex, and to dress modestly. None of these elaborate, contradictory codes of what women must and what women can’t wear. I notice that no two patris’ lists are alike, too. Kind of like pro-patriarchy philosophy: there’s no consensus about what it is, except there’s a solidarity of being AGAINST the strawman they’ve made (“feminism”), for which they also can’t agree on a definition.
But anyway, Cally, *I* can tell you’re a woman, and I’m one of those “confused” g-d feminists.
No, I can’t honestly think of any man who’d wear that top. In fact, when my parents gave DH and me matching denim shirts for Christmas, we had to switch. The one he got had PURPLE on it! Yikes!
Anne, do you remember in “Scrubs” when Elliot dated the “murse”- he was always wearing bright pink scrubs. I never got that…
You look so pretty in brown too! I’d have been so excited to have a nurse like you last summer when I had my son – you just LOOK nice. Knowing that you’d pray with me and be a great nurse is a bonus!
I just don’t understand, still, how I look like a man if I’m wearing pants or shorts. Sheesh.
You both look lovely, ladies, and very feminine!
I liked this from Psalmist:
“The thing is, ever notice how NORMAL most of the patri men dress (as in, you can’t tell them apart at first glance from non-Christian men), yet in some circles their women call much attention to themselves by their oversized, sack-like garments? Maybe it’s time for the guys to start looking different from the world, too.”
We have many Amish and Mennonite around here, and I was just noticing this the other week as I had taken my children to a Mennonite VBS… It seems that no matter what denomination someone is, the men look completely normal, but the women do not. I had commented to my mom how no one would be able to tell the men were Mennonites, but the women you obviously could!
